Nickel Creek's bluegrass stars Sean Watkins, Sara Watkins and Chris Thile perform at the McDonald Theatre. The group has created shockwaves with their youth and ability. See Tuesday Calendar.

The UO 2003-2004 Colin Ruagh Thomas O'Fallon Memorial Lecturer in Art and American Culture Leon Johnson presents his film Faust/Faustus in Deptford. The film, initially a performance piece, employs the Faust/Faustus story — about a man who sells his soul to the devil — to capture the psychological and spiritual bankruptcy professor Johnson observes in today's society. See Thursday, April 8 Calendar.

Les Ballets Africains, the national ensemble of the Republic of Guinea, stops at the UO during the company's 50th anniversary tour. Blending traditional dance, music, story telling and live drumming, the performance promises to be beautiful and awe-inspiring. See Tuesday Calendar.

Critically acclaimed Eugene author Harriet Rubin reads from her book Dante in Love: The World's Greatest Poem and How it Made History. Her story of the 14th century poet's mastery of the poetic form is imbued with the personal, as Rubin argues for the poet's relevance in her life and the lives of all artists and lovers. See Tuesday Calendar.

The League of Crafty Guitarists are propelling a new form of music, the guitar orchestra. This impressive group of a dozen skilled guitar players graces the WOW Hall. See Friday Calendar.
