The Holmes Brothers perform at the WOW Hall in support of their new CD, Simple Truths. Ever since they first joined forces and started performing together in 1979, The Holmes Brothers have been bringing their brand of gospel-inflected, spiritually moving and funky music to audiences around the world. See Tuesday Calendar.

Oregon Bach Festival favorite, singer Thomas Quasthoff, has regretfully canceled his 2004 appearances due to severe bronchitis. Other artists have come forward to ensure that the concerts go on. June 30 American Songbook will feature pianist Jeffrey Kahane and special guest Guy Few. Soprano Maria Jette will perform the July 3 vocal recital, and baritone Sanford Sylvan the July 7. Baritone Russell Braun will sing the title role of Elijah on July 11. Eugene Weekly sends Mr. Quasthoff its best wishes for a speedy recovery. See Friday Calendar.

On his first tour in more than five years, John Fogerty performs Tuesday at the Cuthbert Amphitheater. Summer concerts at the Cuthbert include Pink Martini on July 16; The Temptations and The Four Tops on July 23; Harry Connick Jr. on July 27; Weird Al Yankovic on July 28; Legends of Doo Wop on August 14; Peter, Paul & Mary on Aug. 28; and Lyle Lovett on Sept. 23.

The 11th Annual KLCC benefit, "KLCC in Bloom: Personal Palettes," will take place Sunday, rain or shine. Garden enthusiasts are invited to explore eight "living paintings" executed on garden-canvases large and small in three Eugene neighborhoods. Tours of the gardens will feature creative use of nature's own beauty, as well as live music, massage chairs and garden art. See Sunday Calendar.

The Bijou Arts Cinema and Cinemark will open Michael Moore's much-anticipated, controversial new film, Fahrenheit 9/11, this week. Moore has employed veteran fact-checkers and attorneys to vouch for the accuracy of the film's facts, although the film is Moore's opinion, not a news report. See Movie Clips.
