Viewpoint: Mother of All Trials. Iraqis watch Saddam in court. BY RIVERBEND Riverbend is a 26-year-old Iraqi woman who has been making blog entries since August 2003 under a pseudonym for her protection. This excerpt (see an earlier one last week) is from a Dec. 5 post to her blog, Baghdad Burning: riverbendblog.blogspot.com I didn't get to see the beginning of the trial today. We were gathered in the kitchen after a brief rodent scare, trying to determine where the mouse had come from, when I was attracted by the sound of yelling coming from the living room.
