Deadline for Calendar and Art in the Galleries submissions are noon on Thursday, a week before the issue that covers your event. Send an e-mail with event, date, time, location and cost to attend to cal@eugeneweekly.com

What happens when you combine kinetic, human sculpture and 2D and 3D art, some of it breakable? Traduza Dance Company aims to find out when it premieres All Angles Thursday through Sunday in the Fenario Gallery. With a multi-disciplined approach, 10 local dancers and choreographers will collaborate with musicians Alberto Redondo, Mick Miller and Jeremiah Harris, painters Jennifer Loghry and Ralph Jaszkowski, photographers Chad Kirkpatrick, Ari Denison and Jeff Ball, and videographer Greg Ashworth to tip headlong into “the creative energy that fuels every artist.” More “happening” than formal show, All Angles allows audience members to  stroll through the mixed-media works at a pace that they choose. The production includes some special guests: Seattle’s The Pffft! Company and Brazilian gem Luciana Proaño. See Thursday, May 29 Calendar.

OSU gets its rock concert groove on this weekend, kicking things off Friday with a Battle of the Bands lasting well into the night (with performances by The Dimes and Jamestown Story) in the MU quad. The next day, drop by the quad for the Flat Tail Music Festival, a free lineup of music that includes the winner of Friday’s Battle of the Bands as well as Intervision, Amadan, Badfish Band, Canoe and Austin, Texas-based Ghostland Observatory (pictured). GO’s electronic dance-rock is a perfect complement to the MU, and their latest album, Robotique Majestique, offers up full-on fuzzbox fury. We like how the festival’s PR says “All Oregon laws will be enforced.” In other words, bands from Texas will not be allowed to pump their own gas, gosh darnit! See Corvallis listings.

Yeah, so Antero Alli’s Pacific Northwest premiere of his new film, The Invisible Forest, takes place at DIVA, the same space that hosts frequent screenings of Henry Weintraub’s 531 Productions (well, this week his shorts are screening at Wandering Goat; see Wednesday Calendar). It’s fitting because The Invisible Forest is basically The Blair Witch Project with theater geeks and Adobe After Effects. Alli will be on hand at the screening to field your puzzled looks of uncomprehending cluelessness. See Thursday, June 5 Calendar.

Here we go, May. You tantalized and teased us for one sultry weekend in the middle but have been nothing but inconsistent gray and scatologically miserable before and after. Here’s an idea: How about you get your act together for this week’s Last Friday Art Walk. We mean, it’s got some new venues and just keeps getting bigger and bigger (soon it may even swallow up the First Friday ARTWalk, but let’s not hedge any bets … ), so why not? Some venues worth noting: Studio B for UO art prof Steve Green’s installations; work by Josh Evert and Teresa Meier at a new venue called Cat’s Meow; paintings (pictured) by Meredith Butler at Infinity Mercantile; work by Maximillian Smoot at Elemental Play. Oh, and don’t miss the kids' carnival at the East Blair Housing Co-op if you’ve got kids and all. See www.lastfridayartwalk.org and Friday Calendar.
