.This Week's Calendar | Ongoing Calendar | Galleries | Music @ the Clubs

Deadline for Calendar and Art in the Galleries submissions are noon on Thursday, a week before the issue that covers your event. Send an e-mail with event, date, time, location and cost to attend to cal@eugeneweekly.com

More than 100 brews will be on tap at the KLCC Microbrew Festival this week, a benefit for the local radio station. As in years past, all five of Eugene’s local breweries have created their spin on the Collaboration Brew. This year it’s the “Sasquatch Old Ale,” a recipe created by the late brewer Glen Falconer. A Home Brew Competition, music sale and live music by The Ashleigh Flynn Band and The Essentials rounds out the entertainment at this sudsy event under the halogen lights of the Fairgrounds. 5pm-11pm Friday and Saturday, Lane County Fairgrounds. 21+. $15 (includes souvenir glass and 2 beer tastings). Additional tastings are $1 each.

Lots of fun but few surprises at this month’s First Friday ArtWalk, as the tour hits on a number of downtown galleries showcasing fine art and even finer wines. The guided tour is led by Kate Ali, an art instructor at LCC, who will interview artists at each stop on the walk. Follow along or chart your own course. The tour begins at Jacobs Gallery before heading over to White Lotus Gallery. Stop #3 showcases works on paper by Malia Schultheis (Mother Culture, pictured) at Fenario Gallery while Harlequin Beads and New Zone Gallery also get the First Friday lovin’. Downtown comes alive on First Fridays and there’s usually something silly going on in Kesey Square for the kiddos. 5:30pm Friday, Feb. 6, begins at Jacobs Gallery, Hult Center. FREE.

IKiss us, we’re Slavic! OK, so maybe we’re not all purely Slavic, but that’s what makes us so inclusive. From Russia to the Balkans, all the way to America, the Slavic tradition lives on in many communities the world over. It’s no surprise that Eugene is host to one of the largest Slavic Festivals on the West Coast, and it all kicks off with a “Slavic Mosaic” gala performance at Cozmic Pizza Friday night ($5). The festival proper begins on Saturday and runs through Sunday at the Lane County Fairgrounds, offering performances by the NYC troupe Barynya (pictured), PDX’s Chervona and Eugene’s own Kef. Delicious Slavic food and colorful arts and crafts can also be had. On Saturday night, sweat off all that borscht at the Russian Fun Dance Party, hosted by DJ Barnaul. 10am-11pm Saturday; 10am-6pm Sunday, Lane County Fairgrounds. www.slavichome.org $7, $3 under age 7.
