The Greyboy Allstars will try to bring some luck to the inauspicious evening of Friday the 13th with their jazz-funk vibe. The Allstars return to the stage after last year’s successful reunion with band namesake DJ Greyboy himself to play ’60s soul-jazz and old-school ’90s acid jazz. Just don’t walk under any ladders, break any mirrors or let black cats cross your path, and you’ll dodge bad luck with an evening of boogaloo jazz. 8pm Friday, McDonald Theatre with opening act Reeble Jar. $20 adv., $23 door.

Sometime Eugenean Marv Ellis (otherwise known as Garrick Bushek) brings his marvelous self and his Imaginary Friends (otherwise known as a 10-piece drum and bass-driven hip hop orchestra) to the WOW Hall on Valentine’s Day to spread a little love, hip hop style. It’s a romantic evening of live and digital hip hop with emcees Parallel Minds and fellow West Coast musicians Sonic Bloom and NIAYH, (N.ow I.s A.ll Y.ou H.ave). If the hip hop music alone isn’t enough to make you feel the love, there’ll be performance painting, a photo show and a special Love set by Dj Dv.  8:30pm Saturday, WOW Hall. $8s adv., $10 door.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day (or the day after) with the fairy-tale romance of Swan Lake. Take a journey into once upon a time and while away a couple hours with Odette, the maiden transformed into a swan by an evil knight, and her prince who swears his eternal love for her (even though he apparently can’t tell the difference between his true love and her black-clad counterpart, Odile). You and your lover will swoon as you watch the Eugene Ballet Company perform pas de deux and pas de chat across the Hult Center stage to the strains of Tchaikovsky’s immortal score. 7:30pm Saturday & 2pm Sunday, Hult Center. $22+.
