Support the work and tree-sit of Cascadia Summer 2009 this Sunday at the Vet’s Club. Dance to the tunes of Molasses and eat Sweet Life Pastries (every tree-sitters’ favorite food) at the Cascadia Summer Solstice Square Dance. And in between do-si-dos you can find out what else you can do to protect Oregon’s forest from logging. Go to forestdefensenow.blogspot.com for more info.

Baa Baa Black sheep, you can check out lots of “natural colored” wool and sheep this weekend at the Black Sheep Gathering this weekend at the Lane County Fairgrounds. Sheep go “baa,” by the way and goats go “maa.” Experienced shepherds can tell the difference.

Free Free Luers! This is one of the last times you’ll hear the call to release Jeff “Free” Luers. The Eugene activist was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the arson of three SUVs at Romania Chevrolet in 2001. That sentenced was reduced last year to ten years, and Free will be freed this December.  The final Day of Solidarity for Jeff “Free” Luers will be at 7 pm, June 20, at the Pizza Research Institute.
