Eugene Weekly : Calendar : 7.2.09

.This Week's Calendar | Galleries | Music @ the Clubs

Deadline for Calendar and Art in the Galleries submissions are noon on Thursday, a week before the issue that covers your event. Send an e-mail with event, date, time, location and cost to attend to cal@eugeneweekly.com

Yee Haw!!! Nothing says Fourth of July celebration like cowboys falling off horses! The Eugene Pro Rodeo hits town Thursday, July 2 and runs through the weekend. If watching monster trucks and calf roping just isn’t on your list, don’t worry, from Art in the Vineyard to a myriad of local celebrations, the holiday weekend is packed with things to do. (A heartfelt sorry those of you from north of the border, Canada Day was last week and we missed it, no party, maybe next year). See Gatherings, Outdoors/Recreation and even Arts/Visual for Lane County’s plethora of fireworks displays.

It’s not just Fourth of July this weekend! It’s the First Friday ArtWalk! Join guest host Jeff Geiger from the No Shame Theater and make stops at La Follette Gallery and Framing, DIVA and New Zone Artists Collective (detail pictured), with a finale at the Atrium. See Arts/Visual or go to www.lanearts.org

There’s a lot of art in the outdoors right now but if you want to take in some theater in the cool of the indoors, we hear Actors Cabaret’s Curtains is fun. Take in some theater, have drink and a nice dinner served by the cast itself. See Theater.
