Eugene Weekly : Calendar : 12.17.09

.This Week's Calendar | Galleries | Music @ the Clubs

Deadline for Calendar and Art in the Galleries submissions are noon on Thursday, a week before the issue that covers your event. Send an e-mail with event, date, time, location and cost to attend to cal@eugeneweekly.com

In a world full of honks, gunshots, TV static, talking head chatter and the endless babble of the masses, Oregon singer/songwriter Brian Cutean (aka QTN) has opted to release Guitarred & Feathered, a completely wordless CD of music that, according the artist, focuses on the elements of “melody, rhythm, a fun bassline and silence.” Coinciding with his CD release party Sunday at Tsunami Books is Cutean’s annual Wordless Solstice, an all-ages gathering celebrating the longest night of the year. Mum’s the word, literally, and everyone is invited to bring “ears, candles and fellowship.” ‘Nuff said. $5 suggested donation, though no one will be turned away for lack of cash.
