Eugene Weekly : Calendar : 5.27.10

.This Week's Calendar | Galleries | Music @ the Clubs

Deadline for Calendar and Art in the Galleries submissions are noon on Thursday, a week before the issue that covers your event. Send an e-mail with event, date, time, location and cost to attend to cal@eugeneweekly.com

All things LCC will be celebrated Wednesday, June 2, when Phi Theta Kappa students at Lane Community College open the campus for Lanestock 2010, a celebration of art, music and merchandise — all made by students — taking place all day in Bristow Square. The highlight of the festival will be an appearance by “Further,” Ken Kesey’s legendary Merry Prankster bus, which will be driven in by the late author’s son Zane. This shindig, which runs from 10am to 10pm, is free and open to the public, so get your funky chicken on and help inaugurate the season of outdoor fun.

Just in time for the slightly sluggish onset of nice weather, this month’s Last Friday ArtWalk features — along with the usual galleries and outdoor public art — two new venues: Core Star Cultural Center is hosting an art show and sale of work by Lane Community College Students, and The Voyeur will feature a wide variety of owner/artist Mo Bowen’s work, including photography, light box art, scan art (detail pictured), collage and a smattering of mixed media and Polaroids. Festivities get underway around 6pm in the Whiteaker neighborhood, and you can nab a walking map at www.lastfridayartwalk.org
