Eugene Weekly : Calendar : 12.9.10

.This Week's Calendar | Galleries | Music @ the Clubs

Deadline for Calendar and Art in the Galleries submissions are noon on Thursday, a week before the issue that covers your event. Send an e-mail with event, date, time, location and cost to attend to cal@eugeneweekly.com

Singer/songwriter Anna Gilbert’s “Room to Breathe” took top honors for EW’s “Next Big Thing Eugene” singles competition this year, but is the talented Eugene native coasting on those prestigious laurels? Nope — the CDs just keep coming, including a brand-new collection of wonderfully intimate Christmas classics, fittingly titled Christmas. Recorded in her parents’ house with a big band gathered around a single microphone, this album is as warm and cozy as yule logs and egg nog. Help Gilbert celebrate the CD release when she plays Saturday at Cozmic Pizza.
