Eugene Weekly : Calendar : 6.23.11

.This Week's Calendar | Galleries | Music @ the Clubs

Deadline for Calendar and Art in the Galleries submissions are noon on Thursday, a week before the issue that covers your event. Send an e-mail with event, date, time, location and cost to attend to cal@eugeneweekly.com

Everybody loves a wiener Ä dog, that is. And Saturdays 4th Annual Wiener Dog Races & Pet Fest give the dignified dachshunds the chance to bound through the grass for honor and for the Cottage Grove Humane Society and South Valley Little League. In addition to the races, all kinds of contests ã costume, look-alike and talent ã will let the proud pups strut their stuff. While the event takes its inspiration from wieners, the most noble racing breed, all leashed dogs are invited.

Registration opens at noon in Coiner Park in Cottage Grove, all-breed events start at 1pm; the teeny weenies run at 2pm.
