Eugene Weekly : Calendar : 8.4.11

.This Week's Calendar | Galleries | Music @ the Clubs

Deadline for Calendar and Art in the Galleries submissions are noon on Thursday, a week before the issue that covers your event. Send an e-mail with event, date, time, location and cost to attend to cal@eugeneweekly.com

Surprise! Just in time for real summer to begin, The Shins announced they’re playing WOW Hall Monday, Aug. 8. Hopefully they’ll have their Sea Legs ready after announcing July 28 that they’ll be touring with new music from their anticipated 2012 album. The tour will give them a chance to try out new lineup, which sounds like a great gaggle of musicians, or So Says I. Like a Phantom Limb, The Shins haven’t released any New Slang since 2007, and for all we know they’ve been Fighting in a Sack in Australia. (Sorry guys, don’t Turn on Me.)

Know Your Onion!
