Eugene Weekly : Calendar : 8.25.11

.This Week's Calendar | Galleries | Music @ the Clubs

Deadline for Calendar and Art in the Galleries submissions are noon on Thursday, a week before the issue that covers your event. Send an e-mail with event, date, time, location and cost to attend to cal@eugeneweekly.com

Even those who would rather slosh through an entire summer of rain than see a parade have a serious motivation to attend this year: Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside are playing right after the parade, 11am Saturday, Aug. 27 at Willamette and Broadway.

Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside have graced the barrooms and concert halls of Portland since 2008, but this past year has seen them launch a meteoric rise to fame. Since finishing their stellar debut album, Dirty Radio, they’ve been touring all over the country, and they’ve even been on Letterman. The Eugene Celebration is a chance to see Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside in their natural habitat — outside, in the sun, busking style.
