• International Association for the Advancement of Creative Maladjustment says it hosts a “little peaceful Speak Out Against Psychiatric Dosing” event in Kesey Square 1:30 pm Friday, Nov. 4. Organizer David Oaks says, “After speakers and an open mic, we will march together to the office of Rep. Pete DeFazio, to object to his co-sponsorship of a bill that would increase outpatient coercion in mental health.” Free.

The McKenzie Watershed Council holds its monthly meeting at McKenzie Fire and Rescue in Leaburg, 5 pm Thursday, Nov. 10. Melanie Giangreco of MWC says, “There will be a public comment session at the beginning of the meeting. The main item on the agenda that will be of interest to the public is a presentation on pharmaceuticals in the McKenzie River, which will be led by staff from the Eugene Water and Electric Board (EWEB), the city of Eugene Wastewater Division, and the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).” 

Community Ecstatic Dance: A Benefit for Hurricane Matthew in Haiti Relief is 7:15 pm Thursday, Nov. 3, at WOW Hall. All donations are voluntary; $5 to $20 suggested. More info at mmeyer@efn.org or 541-222-0632. Meyer says, “Hurricane Matthew — the most brutal Caribbean storm in a decade — devastated Haiti. And, when disaster strikes, children are the most vulnerable.”

• Luna & Larry’s Coconut Bliss will be holding its annual community benefit, A Night of Bliss, 5 pm Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 UUCE 1685 W. 13th Avenue. Luna & Larry’s says, “This will be a divine evening of family fun including endless Coconut Bliss sundaes, live music, local food and beverages, raffle prizes and silent auction.” Last year the benefit raised more than $17,700. This year’s beneficiary is environmental and enviro-justice group Beyond Toxics. Suggested donation is $10-$25 per person or $25-$50 per family.
