• A campaign to raise money for the Eugene Sunday Streets program kicks off at the free monthly Breakfast at the Bike Bridges from 7 to 9 am Friday, June 29, at 24th & Amazon. More information at bikelane.proboards.com

• A panel discussion “On Track: The Rise of Women’s Sports” will be at City Club of Eugene at 11:50 am Friday, June 29, at the Downtown Athletic Club, 10th and Willamette. Panelists include Beck Sisley, Ellen Devlin-Schmidt and Quenna Beasley.

• A three-hour city workshop on designing rain gardens is planned for 9 am to noon Saturday, June 30, at Amazon Community Center, 2700 Hilyard St. Cost is $20 and registration is required at http://wkly.ws/1b7 Rain gardens are shallow depressions designed to capture and filter stormwater and provide habitat for native plants and animals. 

Forest Web of Cottage Grove has an online petition to the BLM that says, “I support the protection and restoration of the 2.6 million acres of BLM forests in western Oregon. These forests provide clean water, salmon habitat and old-growth forests that make Oregon a great place to live.
