9th Annual Great Willamette Clean Up

The 9th Annual Great Willamette Clean Up is this Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm in various locations in Eugene and Springfield. The clean up is a family-friendly event taking place up and down the Willamette River from Oakridge to Portland. The event welcomes both land and water clean up volunteers. Those bringing a boat should register in advance. “This project highlights water quality issues while directly connecting people through a common goal to improve the Willamette River’s health,” says Willamette River South Valley Advocate Michelle Emmons in an email to EW. After participating in the clean up, Ninkasi is hosting a Volunteer Thank You Party at their Tasting Room (272 Van Buren Street) from 1-3 pm. There will be free Track Town Pizza as well as beverages from Mountain Rose Herbs, Townshend’s and Ninkasi.
