The McKenzie Cider and Craft Beer Festival

What better way to pass a brisk autumn weekend than at a brewfest? All the better if that drinking is for a good cause. The McKenzie Cider and Craft Beer Festival will raise funds for the service projects of the Springfield Rotary Club. Rae LaMarche, Rotary member and festival chair, says, “This year we are helping to rehab the Community House at Ebbert United Methodist Church and assist with a food preparation area for students in the Youth Transition Program of Springfield Public schools.” The festival boasts live music, more than 75 breweries and cideries, and food vendors. Kids are even welcome noon to 6 pm Saturday, with kids’ activities like face painting, balloon animals, a puppeteer and live animals with Amazon Joes.

The McKenzie Cider and Craft Beer Festival is 5 to 11 pm Friday, Nov. 10, and noon to 11 pm Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Bob Keefer Center (250 S. 32nd Street, Spfd). Tickets and info available at mccbf.com. $15 single day, $20 both days, commemorative glass included.  — Kelly Kenoyer
