Metamorphoses opens at the UO’s Robinson Theatre Friday, May 1.
Mary Zimmerman adapted Ovid’s tales to great acclaim a few years back, and now the UO’s John Schmor (Or Not to Be) changes it up a bit, partnering with UO dance prof Walter Kennedy to get the UO grads and undergrads into “primary magic” form. The lovely revamped Robinson hosts the show, which requires all of the new technical abilites of the space and then some … and hurray, there’s male nudity! (Um, it concerns Greek mythology. So, duh.) Should be a visual, intellectual and emotionally satisfying treat. Show dates are May 1 & 2, 7-10, 15, 16 & 24. Tix at 346-4363.
