•  West Eugene EmX funding still has more public process to go through and funding of the extension is on the agenda of the Metropolitan Policy Committee from 11 am to 1:30 pm Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Eugene Public Library. The MPC will vote on a recommendation by the Transportation Planning Committee to approve $4.2 million of Oregon Lottery funds and $705,000 of federal funds for the expansion. The deadline for public comment has passed, but audience comment time is provided at the beginning of MPC meetings. See lcog.org for more information.

City Club of Eugene will host its annual “Gifts to the City” program at noon Friday, Dec. 14, in the O’Neil Room at the Hilton downtown. Speakers will include Scott Landfield, Jackman Wilson, August Sabini, Abrella Luvert, Mia Nelson, John Fisher, Jean Stacey, Danuta Pfeiffer, Josh Skov and more.

Institutional Stove Solutions (InStove) which produces high-efficiency cookstoves and related products for refugees and disaster victims, will hold an open house and tour of its factory from 3 to 7 pm Saturday, Dec. 15, at 78120 Hwy. 99 in Cottage Grove.

Occupy Medical is seeking monetary donations to make it through the long, wet winter. Checks can be made out to Occupy Medical and mailed to the Tamarack Center, 3575 Donald St., Suite 230, Eugene 97405. The group’s nonprofit status is pending.
