2018 Eugene Celebration of Old Roses

A fragrant and beautiful chronological exhibit of the different classes of Old Garden Roses, beginning with the species, through the Gallicas, Damasks, Albas, Mosses, Hybrid Perpetuals, Hybrid Musks and Teas, and including modern Hybrid Teas and Austin roses. Plants for sale, silent auction, door prizes, expert advice. Also, a “mystery rose table” – name that flower!  2:30 to 3:30 lecture: “Roses with Stories to Tell: the History behind the Names” by Darrell Schramm, Editor, Heritage Roses Group Rose Letter. To exhibit roses from your own garden, drop off cut roses labeled with their names to the Garden Club building between 8 and 11 AM., preferably before 10:00 AM. If you want a rose to be exhibited on the unknown, mystery table for a possible identification, these are welcome, too!
