2018 Northwest Permaculture Convergence
September 28 - September 30
The Eleventh Annual Northwest Permaculture Convergence will be held September 28-30, 2018 at Camp Singing Wind, Toledo, WA
For more information, visit www.northwestpermaculture.org
The Northwest Permaculture Convergence is the largest annual gathering of permaculture practitioners in North America. Teachers, students and enthusiasts from the Cascadia bioregion attend, with participants from Anchorage to Ashland. This is an educational event with a large dose of fun thrown in! With 50+ workshops and demonstrations, it’s a great opportunity to learn the elements of permaculture and sustainable living. Saturday evening keynote by nationally recognized soil scientist Dr. Elaine Ingham, and Sunday keynote from regionally renowned educator Michael Becker. Come for the day or the weekend; ticket prices include fresh homemade meals and admission to all events. You won’t need a bag for swag; what you’ll come away with will be in your head, in your notebook or in your camera.
Permaculture is a design system that mimics nature to “close the loop,” eliminating waste and increasing abundance. Aside from learning some contra-dance steps on Saturday night, folks can learn how to make meaningful connections, build good communication skills to help your community; produce energy or conserve it; learn about farming and low-impact, natural building or how to choose the best tools for the garden with a small carbon footprint. There will be a presentation and panel discussion on practical applications of social permaculture! We attract an active, high-quality audience of folks who do things, not just look at others doing them.
Rural or urban, animals, plants or fungi; low-energy-use food preservation or natural building; whatever your interest, you’ll find it at the Northwest Permaculture Convergence. Artisans, farmers, food processors, producer and consumer co-ops are welcome additions to the family. Work/trade admissions available upon request, and camping available at Camp Singing Wind at a small additional fee.
