Join the A3 Group and Jazz Choir as they welcome their very special guest, guitarist Jack Radsliff, for an evening of creative, hard-swinging jazz. There will be music by Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Pat Metheny, and Jack Radliff, along with jazz songbook standards.
Students from the Academy of Arts and Academics will kick off the 2018-2019 season by performing jazz compositions associated with Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk (this year marks his 101st birthday), Pat Metheny, and John Coltrane.
Radsliff will be featured throughout the evening, and will join both groups for a version of “In A Silent Way/It’s About That Time,” as recorded by Miles Davis. A familiar face to Jazz Station regulars, Jack Radsliff is a guitarist/composer born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Recently settling in Portland, OR, Jack is has worked with some of the Pacific Northwest’s biggest names, including Tony Glausi, Siri Vik, Evynne Hollens, and many more.
Recently, Jack’s playing has been featured on recordings from Tony Glausi and Joshua Hettwer. Jack has toured as a bandleader to venues in Oregon, California and British Columbia in support of his 2017 release “Migration Patterns.”
