Blackberry bRamble Volunteers Sign UP
August 5• Free
Greater Eugene Area Riders, GEARs, is excited to announce their signature fundraising bicycle ride, the Blackberry bRamble. For this 20th Annual event on August 5th, 2018, we’ll showcase our treasured southern Willamette Valley and our Eugene hospitality by bringing in participants from all over Oregon and neighboring states. This event is the “crown jewel” of local cycling events in Eugene.
Multiple ride options, 100, 62, 40 & 20, and 5 mile Community Ride, offer something for everyone: from the experienced cyclist to the family enjoying their first group ride. At the end, the fun continues with a celebration of the cycling community featuring live music, a burrito dinner, blackberry pie and ice cream, children’s activities, silent auction, and booths from the community and local businesses.
Volunteers are needed for all aspects of support, including: handing out food at rest stops, road marshals, mechanical help, ice cream scoopers and set up. Sign up to volunteer at eugenegears.org/bramble. Volunteers get a Blackberry bRamble t-shirt, pie and ice cream and a letter of certification for service hours if requested.
GEARS is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to promote and encourage bicycle riding for transportation and recreation. Proceeds from the bRamble help support GEARs bike club, and local non-profit groups such as Safe Routes to School, Eugene Adaptive Recreation and Center for Appropriate Transport.
