    International demand for animal products like leather, ivory, and furs encouraged medieval West African empires to expand complex trade relationships both within Africa and with Europe. Explore new data from archaeological sites in Senegal and Burkina Faso–and the central role African societies played in interregional medieval commerce.Talks are included with museum admission; they’re free for members and UO ID card holders.
