The fourth annual Electric Fences music festival will take place Saturday, August 4th, 2018 at Lunasea Gardens in Nehalem, from noon until midnight. The event, held at a 12-acre, partially forested farm on the North Fork of the Nehalem River, will feature performers from Oregon, Washington, Tennessee, and Texas.
A dozen acts are set to take the hillside stage on the festival grounds. The afternoon includes Pacific Northwest honky-tonkers Countryside Ride (Clark County, WA) and the garage punk quartet Bad Shadows (Portland, OR) featuring members of Fences’ alumni Roselit Bone. A Lone Star lineup starts the evening, with cosmic country outfit The Lonesome Heroes (Austin, TX) being followed by the atmospheric folk of Little Mazarn (Austin, TX). This year’s featured headliners are Calvin Johnson (K Records, Beat Happening) as the pseudonymous Selector Dub Narcotic (Olympia, WA) and underground country scene cornerstone Leo Rondeau (Nashville, TN), closing out Electric Fences with an intimate acoustic set.
Other acts performing at Electric Fences: Thee Last Go ‘Round (Portland, OR), Mouth Painter (Portland, OR), Jean Wranglers (Austin, TX), Hey Lover (Portland, OR), Book of Colors (Portland, OR), and Dowsing (Port Townsend, WA).
Electric Fences is open to all ages. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $30 for general admission with overnight camping passes, and can be purchased at the festival or in advance at http://www.electricfencesfest.com/TICKETS-AND-CONTACT.php
Electric Fences – Electric Fences was founded in 2015 as an autonomous, D.I.Y. event, rejecting the necessity of sponsorships, and operating under the idea that a smaller, less restrictive model of the traditional music festival would create a more memorable and enduring experience for both the audience and the performers.
