Geologic History of the Long Tom Watershed

Join the Long Tom Watershed Council (LTWC) for a free public meeting on the geologic history of the Long Tom Watershed and the major events and geomorphic processes that shaped our area. Josh Roering, University of Oregon Geologic Sciences professor, and Karin Baitis, retired BLM soils scientist, will talk about what the area looked like thousands of years ago and how events like the Missoula Floods and Mount Mazama eruption influenced the what we see on the landscape today. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 6 – 8 p.m. at the Veneta Community Center, 25192 E. Broadway Ave. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Light refreshments provided. More info at longtom.org.
