How to take on corporate power: From private prisons, to border walls, to occupation. A discussion of the use of various forms of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS)

February 3 • 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

Dalit Baum, PhD, is Director of Economic Activism for the American Friends Service Committee. She will give a presentation about corporate power:

Corporations have economic and political power that at times overwhelms us.
Led by profit, they are some of the main drivers of state violence, surveillance, and
repression.  How can we take on large corporations… and win? Who are the main
profiteers from the industry of mass incarceration? From immigrant detention,
surveillance and walls? From repression of occupied territories? Can social justice
movements and activist faith communities expose these corporate profiteers, get
them to change, and limit their influence?
