Hyding Jekyll, Henry’s Child, Jollymon, A Tribe of Crow
April 14 • 7:30 pm• $10 - $13
On Saturday, April 14, the Community Center for the Performing Arts and University of Oregon Campus Radio 88.1 FM KWVA proudly welcome back to the WOW Hall Hyding Jekyll, Henry’s Child and Jollymon plus special guests A Tribe of Crow.
Hyding Jekyll started in 2008 as a tribal funk band. Today Hyding Jekyll has become much more diverse, with the current lineup being Jeremy Stafford (drums, vox), Erek Andrus (guitar), Nick Pierson (keys) with original member Greg Gillispie still on bass and lead vocals. The band has been working on new music for the upcoming Final Chapter album and will be playing new songs as well as a few old favs. They also will be adding visuals to the sonic tapestry. Says Greg, “With the addition of Ben Heiken we will be able to tell the stories in multiple ways to try and access all the senses during our performance.”
Formed in the early/mid 90s, Henry’s Child plays a mix of psychedelic, heavy and sometimes eclectic music that not only fit well with the time but stands up today. Now Henry’s Child is back… older but wiser and able to display the maturity of a band who didn’t rely on a formula to succeed. Rather, Henry’s Child produces music that spans any sort of “generation gap” and can go from delicate to brooding in a matter of seconds all while still captivating an audience.
Jollymon is Carey Rich, Mark Blackburn and John Colgate. Billed as “universal tsunamic planet rock” the band formed in Eugene and first played the WOW Hall on April 10, 1992. In July they headlined their first WOW Hall show and within two years were headlining larger venues in Portland and Seattle while opening for national acts such as Beck, Suicidal Tendencies and EMINEM. Jollymon went on to release three albums with Elemental Records. The single “ismyname” got heavy rotation on commercial and college radio across the US and Japan. After releasing their fourth self-titled record, Jollymon decided to take a break. Now they are back with a brand new album due for release this fall.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $13 day of show, and are available at U. of O. Ticket Office, WOW Hall and www.ticketweb.com. Doors open at 7:30 pm and showtime is 8:00. The WOW Hall is located at 291 W. 8th Ave. (the corner of 8th and Lincoln in Eugene) and is open for all ages (6-11 half price at the door when accompanied by parent or adult guardian; five and under no charge).
