“It Takes a Community to Raise a Village” November 1st event to explore transitional housing models
November 1 • 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
“It Takes a Community to Raise a Village” is the theme of a special presentation scheduled for Thursday, November 1, at 7:00 pm in Dennis Hall at the First Presbyterian Church, 114 SW 8th Street in Corvallis. The featured speaker is Dan Bryant of SquareOne Villages in Eugene. The program is sponsored by the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition’s Housing Action Team.
SquareOne Villages is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create self-managed communities of cost-effective tiny homes for people with low-incomes in need of housing. The November 1st program will focus on how tiny house villages are being used to address transitional and affordable housing needs in Eugene.
“It’s our hope that this program will encourage community members to consider how a similar model could be applied in Corvallis,” explained Cassandra Robertson of the Housing Action Team. “We’re looking forward to solution-oriented conversations.”
The event will also include displays by local organizations that are addressing the needs of homeless and at-risk individuals in our community.
The public is invited to attend and encouraged to be part of the conversation.
