Kirtan w/ The Shakti Experience

August 26 • 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$15 – $20

The Shakti Experience is an Ecstatic Meditative Kirtan led by Luz Helena Florez, it’s both an invocation of Divine Presence and a musical journey back to the heart. Kirtan is the singing of ancient mantras with the intention for it to be a vehicle for self-realization. Simply stated, mantra is one of the most powerful ways to generate Shakti-Prana or healing life force energy. When sung in a group the energy is amplified with each person supporting the creation of a unified field.

The Shakti Experience is created with deep intention and space for Spirit to come forth through every participant through the medium of song and dance. We focus on spontaneously moving with and gradually increasing the energy of the group to build to an ecstatic state of connection with the One. We honor everyone’s contribution to the container and encourage singing, clapping, dancing and stillness. Other people have described our gatherings as “healing events that support deep transformation”.

Luz Helena Florez lived in Nepal and India for two years, immersing herself fully in the culture, traditions and teachings of all things Yoga under the guidance of a Nepalese Yoga Master. She is an intuitive facilitator and has a natural gift for creating a safe nest in which people can open their hearts and voices. Luz Helena teaches Yoga, Kirtan, and Intuition Development through classes, retreats and long-term programs to help people awaken their highest potential

Ari Shine is a beautiful violinist, vocalist and also leads on harmonium. Her journey has taken her to India for spiritual growth and devotion and Indian musical learning. She is trained as a life coach, energy healer with The Reconnection and a practitioner of the Emotion Code.

Christian Douglas fell in love with Kirtan chanting while studying yoga and meditation in the Indian ashram described in “Eat, Pray, Love”. It was there that he bought his two-headed drum (pakhawaj) and learned to provide rhythm for the chants.

Sliding Scale $15-$20 but no one turned away for lack of funds!!
