Opioids in Lane County: What You Need to Know

HIV Alliance and Lane County Pain Guidance & Safety Alliance are partnering to host an event discussing the impact of opioids in Lane County. Attendees will be provided with the resources, training, and information they need to understand the opioid epidemic in our region, and how to help. The event will feature four speakers each covering a different topic. Topics and speakers are:
- “Good Samaritan and County Specific Data on Public Health” with Dr. Patrick Luedtke , MD, MPH, Lane County’s Senior Public Health Officer and Chief Medical Officer for Lane County Health & Human Services
- “Opioids and its Effects on the Brain” with Dr. Scott Pengelly MD, Clinical Health Psychology at Pain Consultants of Oregon
- “Non-Opioid Treatment Alternatives for Opioid Dependence” with Dr. Mark Mueller MD, Family Physician at Brookside Clinic—Community Health Centers of Lane County
- “Medically Assisted Therapies for Treating Patients with Opioid Dependence” with Dr. Moxie Loeffler, DO, MD, Family Physician at Charnelton Clinic—Community Health Centers of Lane County
There will be free narcan administration training, as well as free narcan supplies for those who complete the session. Food and Refreshments will also be provided.
