Screening of Icarus Documentary and Q&A with Filmmaker

The University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication and Department of Cinema Studies present the Academy Award-winning documentary Icarus at Bijou Art Cinemas in Eugene on May 8, at 6 pm. A question-and-answer session with Jake Swantko, who served as director of photography and associate producer for the film, will immediately follow the screening. The event is free and open to the public. Priority seating with a University of Oregon ID is available starting at 5:15 p.m. General seating begins at 5:30. Icarus centers on renegade Russian scientist Grigory Rodchenkov, a key figure in his country’s state-sponsored Olympic doping program. Swantko is a 2011 graduate of the UO School of Journalism and Communication.
