Vial…Experiment, Hyper Sloth, Shanoa, Hyding Jekyll
July 27 • 7:00 pm• $10 – $12
On Friday, July 27, the Community Center for the Performing Arts and Phoenix Productions Presents welcome Vial…Experiment, Hyper Sloth, Shanoa and Hyding Jekyll at the WOW Hall.
Eugene hard rock/metal band Vial…Experiment enjoys feeling and living life, playing loud and bringing music to all who want to listen. Band members are Kevin Wayne Richardson “Kevlar” (guitar/vocals), The Madman Mike Nelson (lead guitar), Fat Ass (bass) and Tim “Talos” Benton (drums). The band notes its influences as Alice In Chains, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Elvis, CCR, Pantera, Sepultura, Tool, Black Label Society, Mudvayne, and many more.
Hyper Sloth is a four-piece rock and roll band with melodic metal overtones. The band formed in 2014 and released the EP Crack The Whip. When the lead vocalist left, singer-songwriter Phoebe Blume stepped in. Now her haunting, crooning voice has taken on a new role, that of “lead screamer” for Hyper Sloth. On guitar is Issa Koberstein — an accomplished songwriter and teacher whose previous projects include We Have Guns, Sickman and Issa Band. Bassist Jayson Breeton has played in Sickman, Marble Orchard, The Koozies, Wet Sock and Issa Band. Drummer John Raden plays in Candy Apple Blue and is an instructor at the WOW Hall’s Music’s Edge Summer Rock Camps.
Shanoa is a four-piece metal band based in Roseburg. Formed in 2016, the band includes Matt Webber, Tony Marin, and Lei’a Lei’a Jr. (three former members of southern Oregon’s own Lidless Eye) as well as Brandon Cregan, former guitarist of the popular southern Oregon band Tallboy.
2018 marks ten years Hyding Jekyll has been making music in the Willamette valley. The songs tell a story from power to failure, humanity at it’s best to worst. The music shapes the stories. “We try to take everyone on an adventure,” says founding member Greg Gillispie.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 day of show, and are available at U. of O. Ticket Office, WOW Hall and www.ticketweb.com. Doors open at 7:00 pm and showtime is 7:30. The WOW Hall is located at 291 W. 8th Ave. (the corner of 8th and Lincoln in Eugene) and is open for all ages (6-11 half price at the door when accompanied by parent or adult guardian; five and under no charge).
