Wordcrafters Writing Workshop: Writing a Dynamic First Paragraph – and Beyond!

November 19 • 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

You only get one chance to make a first impression. When it comes to getting a reader (or editor) to stick with you, the first paragraph can make or break your story. In this workshop, we’ll look over examples of good and bad first paragraphs, discuss what a first paragraph needs to include, and do a writing exercise to help develop exciting first lines.

The class size is limited to 25 and will be held in the Library Meeting Room inside Springfield City Hall. To ensure your spot please sign-up at the library’s reference desk or by calling 541-726-3766. Walk-in participants will be welcome as long as there are spaces available.

Each month, the Springfield Public Library hosts a free writing workshop for the public, presented by Wordcrafters in Eugene. All are welcome to join the free writing workshops. Adult library events are made possible by a sponsorship from the Springfield Public Library Foundation.
