Working with Emotions

This is a 5 week course beginning August 15, 2018
Confused, wild emotions can dominate us in obvious and subtle ways. Without suppressing feelings or acting them out, Buddhist meditation works with emotions directly. The energy of emotions becomes the basis for developing wisdom and compassion. The ground is experiencing the pain and confusion of emotions, and looking for a way to work with them. The path or process of working with emotions is explored. The fruition leads to further clarity in communication with others.
In this course we will explore the pain and confusion of emotions and look at ways to work with them. This is through the practice of meditation and mindfulness, developing maitri (loving kindness), prajna (wisdom) and communication with a Mahayana outlook. In particular the quality of emotions, the attitude toward emotions, agelessness and the relationship of intelligence and confusion.
This class is held in person and online live via zoom.
If you arrive late, please ring the door-bell. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, non-marked spots in the lot and street parking is available. Please give yourself plenty of time to park and arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of class.
On rare occasion we must reschedule, we recommend you check website calendar to confirm no changes to the schedule particularly on national holidays.
