World Refugee Day on June 20: Come to World Refugee Day 2018 on Wednesday, June 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (FUMC), 1376 Olive Street, Eugene. This free public event features a talk on migration from award-winning photojournalist Paul Jeffrey, as well as information tables, a model refugee tent, a play about refugees in our community, A3 student projects, a refugee center architectural model, food carts and traditional desserts, storytelling, and dancing. You can also assemble supplies for relief kits to be sent to refugees. Suitable for all ages. The event is sponsored by the Refugee Resettlement Coalition of Lane County (a coalition of faith-based groups, service organizations, & people from the Eugene-Springfield community coordinating with Catholic Community Services to welcome & support refugees resettling in Lane County) along with the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, and FUMC.
